The growing influence of AI and digital tools in travel will be debated at Aito’s annual overseas conference.
The three-day event running until Sunday is being staged in Asturias, northern Spain, under the theme ‘Algorithm v the Human Side of Travel’.
Business partners and industry experts are to discuss the major challenges and opportunities currently shaping the sector, including the future of specialist travel.
Aito chair Chris Rowles said: “The theme for our Overseas Conference is The Algorithm v The Human Side of Travel, and we’ll discuss how both AI and people can work in tandem to the future benefit of specialist travel.
“This is our chance to step back from the everyday, reflect on the big-picture issues facing our industry, and collaborate on ideas that will keep Aito members firmly at the forefront of the UK’s SME travel sector.”
Industry speakers include Travel Trade Consultancy director Martin Alcock, former Aito chair Richard Hearn, former general manager at Canvas Holidays and joint founder of Inntravel; Women in Travel CIC’s Alessandra Alonso; and Aito Council member Alisdair Luxmoore.
External speakers include former British army officer Colonel Richard Kemp and mountaineer Kenton Cool.
