Former Euromonitor International head of travel and tourism research Caroline Bremner has taken up a new role at the Travel Foundation.
She has become data insights specialist at the non-profit NGO after almost 30 years at Euromonitor.
Her appointment marks a “gear shift” in the Travel Foundation’s ambition to offer top-tier insight to destinations and tourism businesses, according to the organisation.
Bremner will lead the delivery of Impact Insights, a new service designed to help businesses interpret global change and apply the most relevant insight and foresight to strategy, budgeting and transformation goals.
She will also contribute to research and programme development at the Travel Foundation, with a focus on areas such as destination risk, tourism sentiment as a proxy for wellbeing, and the equitable distribution of tourism’s value.
Bremner is the author of a book Future-Proofing Travel, published last year, which explores how travel companies and destinations can harness digitalisation and green innovation to regenerate communities and build long-term success.
Travel Foundation chief executive Jeremy Sampson said: “Having worked closely with her over many years, including collaborating and speaking at major industry events, bringing Caroline in-house was a natural step.
“Her depth of knowledge, strategic perspective and global credibility are hugely valuable as we support our partners to navigate complex challenges and take bold, practical steps towards more equitable and climate-smart tourism.”
Bremner said: “It’s a privilege to join the Travel Foundation at such a pivotal moment.
“I’ve always believed that insight has the power to drive better decisions and greater impact, and I’m excited to work with destinations and businesses that are ready to shape the future rather than simply react to it.”
