Royal Caribbean has unveiled details of its fourth Icon Class ship, Hero of the Seas, ahead of its introduction in August 2027.
The ship, which will make its debut in Miami, will have a record-breaking nine swimming pools as well as the most dining venues in the fleet at 28.
Royal Caribbean president and chief executive Michael Bayley said: “Icon Class truly set a new standard for family vacations, and Hero of the Seas takes that vision even further.
“With more water, more thrills and more choices for all ages, we’re continuing to build on what our guests love about Royal Caribbean and delivering the experiences families are looking for when vacationing together.”
Hero of the Seas will offer seven-night eastern and western Caribbean sailings from Miami, with every trip including a visit to private island Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
The ship’s eight “neighbourhoods” will include new pool Coconut Cove, steps away from tropical Caribbean bar The Lime and Coconut, while speciality dining options will include Orleans Parish Supper Club, a new multi-course dining venue with live jazz, craft cocktails and gourmet Cajun and Creole dishes, as well as Royal Railway – Hero Station, an “immersive” experience in which diners will be transported to “new destinations” through a combination of entertainment, food and technology.
