Tui is to resume a partial programme of holidays to Jamaica in a week’s time.
The operator confirmed its return from November 24 after flights and packages were cancelled due to Hurricane Melissa.
Tui had previously cancelled package holidays and flights to Jamaica up until at least November 16 while Virgin Atlantic paused services to the island until late November.
In an update issued on Friday, Tui UK & Ireland said: “Due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa to local infrastructure including hotels and roads, we have made the decision to cancel package holidays and flights up to, and including, 23 November 2025.
“We’re able to resume part of our programme to Jamaica from 24 November.
"Customers travelling up to and including 30th November will be notified of any impact to their booking.”
Melissa struck on October 28 bringing what the Foreign Office described as “exceptional levels of rainfall” and strong winds to the whole of Jamaica.
The Jamaica Tourist Board has listed hotels which are being reopened on its website together with an update on tours and attractions on the island.
“Following the passage of Hurricane Melissa, Jamaica is reopening and all international and domestic airports are operational,” the JTB said.
Sandals Resorts International plans to begin accepting guests back to Jamaica on December 6 at its resorts in Ocho Rios and Negril following a post-storm assessment of each of the company’s eight resorts across the country.
Three properties - Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals South Coast - will not re-open until May 30, 2026 due to the need for “a more extended timeline for improvements”.
