New travel job opportunities have risen to their highest level in eight months, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
October’s total increased by 2% compared to September and reached its highest level since February, despite slipping by 19% from last October.
Similarly, the volume of candidates being placed in new jobs in the travel industry hit a seven-month high in October with a 46% monthly increase in placements. However, it was down by 5% on October 2024.
Last month also saw the number of candidates searching for new travel jobs rising to a six-month high, with a 6% increase from September. Last month’s total was the highest since April but dipped by 2% from October 2024.
This was the second month in a row that all metrics – candidates, vacancies and placements – have risen; marking the first time this has happened for more than four years – since June and July 2021.
Barbara Kolosinska, co-owner and managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “For many, many months, we have been calling for momentum and consistency in the travel jobs market – and there are now very early signs that we may be seeing this.
“For the first time since 2021, the number of new travel jobs, candidates and placements have all increased in back-to-back months.
“This is much needed, and while we clearly need this to continue before we can declare it a real trend, it’s undoubtedly a positive sign for the travel industry.”
All figures are drawn from the month’s new vacancies advertised with C&M Travel Recruitment.
