Thomas Cook to open latest Casa Cook hotel in Crete

Thomas Cook is to open its latest Casa Cook own-brand hotel on the Greek island of Crete.

The 45-room Casa Cook Chania is the collection’s first family hotel and has a kids’ club with design input from 25 children.

Casa Cook, aimed at “bohemian travellers” has hotels in Rhodes and Kos, with another planned for next year in Ibiza and a fifth set to open in Brela, Croatia, in 2020.

Casa Cook Chania, which opens to guests in September, is designed to be a village-like resort and is on the outskirts of the harbour city.

The resort will have dedicated areas for young children and teens who will be able to have a go at cooking classes, painting workshops and sleepovers in a teepee.

The hotel has seven different room-types with each room accommodating a minimum of two adults and one child with larger suites and interconnected rooms available for bigger families or groups of friends.

Some rooms offer shared or private pools and all have retractable glass walls opening on to a private terrace or pool.

The restaurant and bar, next to the main pool, in inspired by tropical beach clubs and has an all-day open kitchen serving local cuisine.

A central pavilion will offer group and private yoga classes, as well as training equipment for individual workouts with personal trainers available. Massages can be provided in a “nomad-style” tent.

Casa Cook is one of Thomas Cook’s seven own hotel brands available to UK customers; which also include premium family Sunwing resorts, adult-only Sunprime retreats and the recently-launched Cook’s Club hotels which offer a stripped-back, “urban lifestyle by the beach”.
