Janet Parton, the cruise line’s vice-president of business development for the UK, Europe and Australia, readies herself for her 15th appearance at Travel Weekly’s Agent Achievement Awards
Q. Why has Celestyal decided to renew its headline sponsorship of the AAAs?
A. We’re thrilled to once again be sponsoring the AAAs – it really is the event of the year for the UK travel trade. It’s a chance to celebrate the exceptional talent, passion and resilience of our industry, and sponsoring the night is our way of saying a heartfelt thank you to the agents who have supported us.
Q. How has 2025 been so far?
A. It’s been a fantastic start to the year for Celestyal. Our new Arabian Gulf season – a first for us – has exceeded all expectations, both in terms of demand and feedback. It’s clear that UK agents are excited about offering something fresh and different to their clients, and we’re proud to bring our award-winning destination immersion style to this region.
Q. What are your hopes for the rest of 2025?
A. Let’s just say the best is yet to come! We’ve got some very exciting developments on the horizon. I can’t say too much just yet – it’s top secret – but if you’re at the AAAs, keep your ears open for a major announcement on the night. We’re expanding, we’re evolving and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
Q. How are you supporting your travel agent partners?
A. We’re always striving to be as easy to work with as possible. That’s why we’ve recently enhanced The Celestyal Compass, our trade portal, which incorporates a new learning platform called Celestyal Campus. It features training modules on areas including an overview of the brand, life on board our two-ship fleet (Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery), key itinerary information and details on our shore excursions, making it simpler to book with us. The Celestyal Compass also acts as a single reference point for agents to find all the marketing assets they need. We regularly run booking incentives and provide competitive offers and marketing support. And there’s more to come: we’ve got new initiatives launching in July to make selling Celestyal even easier. Watch this space!
Q. What are your fondest AAAs memories?
A. This will be my 15th AAAs – and it’s still one of the highlights of my year. The energy in the room is incredible. It’s such a feel-good night – seeing people you know, admire and work alongside being recognised for their hard work is truly special. The look on a winner’s face when their name is called is just priceless.
Q. What was your last holiday?
A. A long weekend in Boston, packed with sightseeing, eating, walking and . . . shopping!
Q. First holiday?
A. Camping in South Wales as a child. My first trip abroad was to France – also in a tent!
Q. Next trip?
A. A work trip combining Doha and Abu Dhabi – ahead of our winter deployment – and then on to Australia. I can’t wait.
Q. Most surprising destination?
A. Greece. I visit often and still find something new every time. It has it all – sun-soaked beaches, ancient history, modern hotels and a truly authentic way of life.
Q. Dream travel companion?
A. Always friends and family. There’s nothing better than making memories with the people you love.
Q. What song will get you on the dancefloor at the AAAs?
A. Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5. I’m a big country music fan – it gets me dancing every time!
