Abta has confirmed an upbeat, forward-looking theme for its Travel Convention in October, with business sessions focussed on ‘The Road Ahead – Reasons to be Cheerful’.
The Convention will aim to make the case for optimism despite heightened uncertainty and disruption around the world, identifying this as key to motivating teams and attracting new talent to the industry.
The event, in Mallorca, will mark Abta’s 75th year of operation but invite members and partners to look ahead rather than back and focus on the technologies, trends and sustainable practices which will shape the industry in the coming years.
Announcing a theme that “invites industry leaders to look ahead with renewed positivity”, Abta said: “The business sessions will highlight how reframing challenges can spark energy and creativity, from embracing transformative technologies and sustainable practices to navigating shifting social and geopolitical landscapes.”
The Travel Convention will also “shine a light on the progress across the travel sector” in aviation, cruise and infrastructure “where cleaner, more efficient models are emerging, and address ways to manage over-tourism that will provide the right balance for destinations, their residents and visitors”.
Abta is offering tour operators, cruise lines and partners the chance to host a travel agent of their choice at this year’s Convention by adding £45 to the standard registration fee of £750 – the first time it has offered this ‘Free place for an agent’ scheme.
The offer will be available until July 2, 2025.
Abta is also offering a ‘Register three, get a fourth place free’ deal on standard registrations. Any member, partner or company registering three or more attendees at the standard £750 rate will be offered one free additional registration.
The Travel Convention 2025 will be held in Calvià, Mallorca, on October 6-8.
