Abta has revealed the theme for business sessions at its 2026 Travel Convention will be ‘Managing uncertainty with confidence’.
Furthermore, an early booking registration discount of 20% has been extended, from May 13 to June 10, “to help members and partners at this challenging time”, said organisers.
The event in Funchal, Madeira, will take place in partnership with easyJet holidays from October 12-14.
Mark Tanzer, Abta chief executive, said: “The travel industry is very experienced in dealing with disruption and change, it comes with the territory.
“However, changes to the way we travel in Europe alongside wider world events have brought about new uncertainty and that is why we will bring the industry together at this year’s Travel Convention to explore how to manage this with confidence.
“The industry, and our members are extremely resilient, and the Convention will facilitate conversations that will help businesses build on their resilience and be stronger and ready for the future.”
The event will be hosted by VisitPortugal and Visit Madeira and will again be moderated by BBC and Sky News broadcaster and travel writer Jonathan Samuels.
Delegates at the 2026 convention will stay at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World which is in central Funchal.
In addition to easyJet holidays, other supporters include headline partner Intrepid Travel and returning trade media partner Travel Weekly.
The event will start on Monday October 12 with several social and community events and excursions before an opening ceremony, with the main business sessions due to take place on October 13 and 14.
The sessions will be focused on four pillars: Our world; Our industry; Your business and Your network.
