British Airways will operate its record-breaking number of weekly flights from London to North America in summer 2025, with more than 400 direct flights offered during peak weeks.
Additional capacity from Heathrow for next summer includes an extra seven flights a week to Miami, creating a twice-daily year-round service, as well as an extra six departures per week for Austin to bring the total to 13 per week.
An extra three flights per week have been added to Las Vegas for peak months, while Pittsburgh will be given a daily service for the first time and Washington DC and Vancouver will each be served by up to seven additional flights per week.
Neil Chernoff, chief planning and strategy officer at BA, said: “The US remains a priority market for us and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever before to travel between the UK and the US.”
The carrier, which offers more flights between the UK and the US than any other European airline, will serve 26 US cities in summer 2025 in addition to destinations in Canada and Mexico.
In the last decade, BA has launched six routes to cities across the US – Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2018, Pittsburgh in 2019, Portland, Oregon, in 2022, and Cincinnati in 2023.
Additional flights from Heathrow to the US for summer 2025
- Miami, Florida (MIA): An additional seven flights per week, bringing the total to 14 flights per week and creating a twice-daily service year-round.
- Austin, Texas (AUS): An extra six flights per week, bringing the total to 13 services per week.
- Las Vegas, Nevada (LAS): An extra three flights per week during peak months of the season, bringing the weekly total to 10.
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PIT): An increase from six to seven flights per week, creating a daily service for the first time since the route was introduced.
- Washington DC (IAD): An increase of seven flights per week, bringing the total to 21 flights per week.
- Vancouver, Canada (YVR): An increase of up to seven flights per week, bringing the total to up to 14 flights per week during peak summer.
Elsewhere on BA’s global route network, a third daily flight to Delhi has been added for summer 2025, bringing the total number of flights to India to 63 per week across five destinations.
Flights from Gatwick to Cancun will grow from six per week to seven, creating a daily service next summer, while a second daily flight has been added from Heathrow to Florence (FLR).
New services to Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah, both launching in November 2024, will continue into the summer 2025 season, along with frequency growth in Riyadh.
For the winter 2024 season, the airline’s direct route from Gatwick to Bangkok will return on October 28, 2024, operating three times per week to the Thai capital. The service will increase to up to five times per week between January and March 2025.
