Ryanair adds one-off routes to meet Euro 2024 fan demand

Ryanair is adding new flights to Germany from the UK with more than extra 11,000 seats for football fans travelling to Euro 2024 in June.

Temporary services have been laid on from Edinburgh to Memmingen; Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester to Frankfurt; Birmingham to Dortmund and Glasgow to Cologne.

Additional seats on existing routes, include Stansted to Dortmund and Frankfurt and Manchester to Cologne.

The airline is firstly targeting the Germany v Scotland opening match in Munich on June 14 with increased capacity.

More seats are on offer to Dortmund cover travel to Gelsenkirken for the England v Serbia match on June 16.

The additional Cologne routes coincide with Scotland playing Switzerland on June 19.

More flights coincide with England v Denmark in Frankfurt on June 24; Scotland v Hungary in Stuttgart via Karlsruhe/Baden Baden airport on June 23 and England v Slovenia on June 25    

A Rynair spokesperson said: “It’s going to be an epic summer of football with the return of the Euros this June. 

“To celebrate and make sure all footie fans can enjoy the Championship in person, Ryanair has added over 11,000 extra seats between Germany and the UK throughout June. 

“This includes extra capacity on existing routes as well as the addition of several special one-off flights, including Edinburgh to Memmingen, Bristol to Frankfurt and Glasgow to Cologne.”
