Singapore Airlines reported “robust” carryings and load factors last month, reflecting strong demand for air travel.
SIA and low-cost arm Scoot flew a combined 2.8 million passengers, up 65.8% year-on-year. SIA carried the bulk at 1.8 million.
Group passenger capacity in May was 33.7% higher than the same month last year.
The overall passenger load factor improved by 9.8 percentage points to reach 88%.
SIA posted a monthly load factor of 87.2% while Scoot achieved 90.7%, its sixth consecutive month with loads above 90%.
Europe was the only region which showed a load factor decline for SIA, down 1.5 percentage points to 85.6%.
The group’s passenger network covered 114 destinations in 36 countries and territories by the end of May.
SIA served 74 destinations, while Scoot covered 63 points.
Scoot resumed services to Nanning and Shenyang in China during the month.
