Wizz Air confirms return of Israel flights

Wizz Air today confirmed the resumption of routes to Tel Aviv from Luton airport and five other points in Europe.

Flights to Israel have been suspended since last autumn due to the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The budget carrier will restart flights three times a week from March 1 with one-way fares starting at £31.99.

Services will also run from Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia, Krakow and Rome Fiumicino.

However, British Airways flights to the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv from Heathrow remain suspended up to and including March 30 “following the latest assessment of the situation” in Israel.

A Virgin Atlantic service from Heathrow to the Israeli gateway also remains cancelled until March 30 with a second daily summer frequency not scheduled to operate.

Ryanair flights from parts of Europe to Tel Aviv are also cancelled until March 30.

EasyJet flights from the UK top Tel Aviv remain suspended with the route under regular review.

El Al flights have continued to operate across its network from Tel Aviv.
