Princess Cruises has named the madrina of soon-to-launch ship Discovery Princess.
Hotel general manager Terri Cybuliak, who joined the line in 1998, will assume the traditional madrina role ahead of the 3,660-passenger vessel’s launch on March 27.
The madrina is the person responsible for wishing the ship a safe onward journey, the line has previously said. Princess has yet to name the ship’s official godmother.
Cybuliak became the first female hotel general manager at Princess to launch a new-build from a shipyard when Sky Princess entered service.
President John Padgett said: “Terri embodies the Princess Cruises spirit and culture of being a team player, forging strong relationships, learning from her colleagues and mentoring her team to perform at their highest level.
“We proudly honour Terri as the madrina of our new Discovery Princess, recognising all of her incredible contributions over her 24-year career with Princess.”
Cybuliak added: “Princess has afforded me the opportunity to travel the world and I am forever grateful for these experiences.”
Discovery Princess is the sixth and final Royal-Class new-build. Sister ships include Enchanted Princess, Sky Princess, Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, and Royal Princess.
The ship is currently sailing to Port of Los Angeles ahead of a series of Mexican Riviera and California coast voyages from March 27 to April 24, 2022.
The ship will then head north the Pacific coast to begin a season of seven-night Alaska cruises from Seattle.
