Dnata Travel Group has launched a consultation with staff of Travel Republic and Netflights after “confirming proposals to bring operations to a close”.
The company said the proposal was a result of a previously announced review of its UK-based travel businesses and confirmed its other UK brands, B2B operator Gold Medal and retailer Travelbag, were unaffected.
It added “no final decisions will be made” until the consultation process is complete.
A spokesperson said: “Dnata Travel Group confirmed proposals to bring operations for Travel Republic and Netflights to a close.
“This follows a detailed review of the group’s UK-based travel businesses and forms part of a broader strategic effort to keep its portfolio aligned with its long-term objectives and the realities of a changing market.
“There is no immediate change for customers with existing bookings. All confirmed trips will go ahead as planned, and our customer service team will continue to assist travellers as usual.”
The spokesperson added: “Dnata Travel Group recognises the personal impact of these proposals and has initiated a formal consultation process with affected colleagues.
“No final decisions will be made until this process is completed. The consultation will focus on the rationale behind the proposals, opportunities for potential redeployment and measures to support colleagues throughout the process.”
They said: "Gold Medal and Travelbag are not included in the proposals and remain part of dnata Travel Group, continuing to trade as normal.
"Dnata Travel Group remains committed to open and transparent communication with employees, customers and partners as the process progresses.”
