G Adventures has revealed it will hold the 2026 edition of its GX summit in Morocco.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of this year’s gathering in Amman, Jordan.
The first edition of the event, based on promoting community-driven tourism, took place in Cusco, Peru, in 2023.
Meryem Bennouna, UK, Ireland and Nordics director of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, said: “Resilience, unity and shared purpose have always been part of Morocco’s DNA – carried by its communities and culture.
“To now welcome the world’s leading summit on sustainable and community-driven tourism is both a privilege and a natural fit.”
The dates of next year’s event have yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to begin around September 21 and end on September 27, the latter being World Tourism Day.
It is anticipated that nearly 1,000 delegates will attend, and they are expected to visit several cities.
The event’s schedule will include keynote sessions, local impact visits, cultural immersion and industry workshops.
G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip said: “GX is so much more than a conference, it’s about our global community coming together to harness the power of tourism to uplift communities, educate one another, and celebrate travel’s ability to transform lives.
"Every travel decision we make carries the potential to create a positive impact, and GX Morocco in 2026 will be a chance to deepen that impact together.
"Morocco is an incredible destination and a place where our travellers already connect with and support local communities in meaningful ways and, through GX, those ripple effects of positive tourism will grow even stronger, reaching and benefiting many more people.”
