Nominations have opened for the Globe Travel Awards 2026, which this year features three new categories among a host of sought-after awards.
The Globes is the largest leisure awards ceremony in the travel industry and will be held in central London on January 15, 2026, in association with headline partner Hearst UK.
New accolades for Best Luxury River Cruise Line, Best Ancillary Provider (incorporating tickets, insurance, airport add-ons and currency) and Supplier Representative of the Year, honouring a trade supplier who supports agents in their day-to-day sales, have been introduced for the 2026 event.
Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, said: “The Globe Travel Awards is the biggest celebration in travel and our 2026 ceremony promises to be another unforgettable event, honouring those who continue to set the highest standards across the industry.
“This year, we’re excited to introduce new award categories that reflect the evolving landscape of travel, recognising the growth of the luxury river cruise market and shining a light on the hard-working supplier representatives who provide day-to-day support to agents.
“Choosing the winners begins with you – the agents whose nominations and votes make the Globe Travel Awards possible. Nominations are open now, so thank you in advance for taking the time to highlight the suppliers who truly stand out.”
The shortlist of 32 supplier categories spans cruise, touring and adventure, airlines and airports, accommodation and trade support, and is solely nominated and voted for by frontline UK agents. Nominations are now open at globetravelawards.co.uk.
In addition, five Special Awards categories highlight specific achievement and innovation in areas including sustainability, accessibility and inclusive workplaces. Suppliers can enter themselves or nominate others in these Special Awards categories, with the Unsung Hero and Outstanding Achievement awards also open to agents.
Stu Parish, UK chief executive of Travel Weekly’s parent company, Jacobs Media, said: “Our Special Awards recognise the significant impact made by those individuals and companies that go the extra mile in order to make our industry an even better place to work.
“I encourage everyone to think about those who have made a positive change, the companies that strive for inclusivity and sustainability, or the colleague who works tirelessly behind the scenes. Now is the chance to spotlight those inspiring stories by nominating a company or colleague who deserves to be recognised for their efforts.”
Agents can submit nominations for their top trade suppliers until September 24, and shortlists will be revealed in a special voting supplement published with Travel Weekly on November 6.
Jamie Doubleday, chief client officer at Hearst UK, says: “We are extremely proud to partner with Travel Weekly for the Globe Travel Awards for the seventh consecutive year.
“We know our audience loves to travel, spending £40 billion on holidays and short breaks each year. They turn to our portfolio of trusted brands, including Harper’s Bazaar, Men’s Health, Good Housekeeping and Prima, for inspiration and expert recommendations.
“The Globe Travel Awards are a natural synergy, and I can’t wait to join you all in January to celebrate the very best of the travel industry.”
