Heathrow has been criticised for hiking its drop-off charge to £7.
The Business Travel Association attacked the rise from £6 and the introduction of a 10-minute limit in drop-off areas.
The changes are being introduced from January 1, the airport disclosed in a posting on X yesterday (Tuesday).
Heathrow said the terminal drop-off charge will increase to £7 alongside the introduction of a 10 minute maximum stay limit.
BTA chief executive Clive Wratten said: “Heathrow’s decision to increase its terminal drop-off fee to £7 and introduce a strict 10-minute limit is yet another example of rising airport charges hitting the very people who keep our economy moving.
“Business travellers are being penalised the moment they arrive at the airport. There’s next to no justification for this.
“These charges do nothing to improve the passenger experience or reliability of access to Heathrow.
“All it does is simply raise costs for individuals and businesses already facing higher travel taxes and regional connectivity challenges."
