Hoseasons has attributed improved dog-friendly facilities at holiday parks for sustained growth in sales of pet breaks.
The self-catering operator said bookings of holidays with pets for this summer were up by 30% year on year.
For off peak breaks this spring pet breaks the operator reported a 29% hike year on year while overall sales of pet holidays were said to be 15% up.
The operator said the trend was being spearheaded by demand from families looking to get away with their dog and looking for suitable pet-friendly holiday facilities.
The figures come as Hoseasons launches its Pets Go Free campaign (April 8), with dogs able to travel free on selected 2025 breaks booked before April 30, 2025.
General manager Gemma Brown said welcome packs, wash stations and agility courses at holiday parks were making self-catering stays more attractive to pet owners than in the past.
She said: “The vacation rentals market really has led the way when it comes to making dogs properly welcome over the last few years, effectively redefining what it means to be pet-friendly.
“We’ve always been a nation of dog lovers, so it’s no surprise that owners want to bring their pets with them when they’re planning a family holiday – especially when these days pampered pooches get to enjoy their holiday just as much as their human companions.”
