Bookings for festive trips are up 27% so far this year, compared to the same period in 2024, according to short breaks operator Just Go Holidays.
Over the last four weeks, 45% of the tour operator’s bookings have been for November and December departures.
Claire Dutton, trade sales manager, said: “Despite the recent hot weather in the UK, demand for festive holidays is stronger than ever.
“September is traditionally when customers start planning their Christmas break, but this year we saw them returning from their summer holiday and immediately planning their next one.
“We anticipate this demand will continue through September and beyond. As the days get shorter, holidaymakers like to have a trip to look forward to – it helps them through the autumn and early winter months.”
She hailed the support from travel agents over recent weeks, adding: “To help them capitalise on the continued demand, we are sending out themed window cards and posting more offers on our trade Facebook page to ensure they can easily access details of our holidays and breaks departing in November and December.”
Just Go Holidays’ 2025 festive programme features new six-day European breaks, an increased range of departures over Christmas and New Year and more UK options than in previous years.
Among the top sellers for 2025 are London theatre breaks – combining a London show with festive shopping – Christmas markets in the UK and Europe, Harry Potter, Hogwarts in the Snow and ‘Tinsel & Turkey’ options.
