UK self-catering specialist Landal has attributed increased demand for accommodation for larger groups and pets for a strong summer season.
The company said sales of four-bed family properties - which sleep eight people - were up by 15% year on year as families and friends sought holidays in larger groups. Pet bookings were also up 10% year on year.
UK managing director Paul Hardingham said: “2025 has continued to deliver with bookings remaining very positive for peak summer. We are encouraged by the growth in demand for our larger lodges and multi-bedroom properties, as well as pet-friendly accommodation.
“Our latest results are a great indication of the ongoing popularity of a premium UK staycation and the desire to spend quality time in luxury accommodation amongst nature with extended family and friends.”
The news comes as Landal reported strong sales in the second quarter of this year compared to last year. The Lake District achieved the largest sales increase for a specific region, with sales up 15% year on year.
The back-to-nature brand announced the addition of the resort Landal Ullswater Heights in the Lakes to its portfolio in January and is planning further expansion at Landal Whitbarrow in the region. Landal also added two parks in Yorkshire at the start of the year.
Hardingham added: “We are pleased to see our UK portfolio continuing to grow alongside rising demand. The ongoing expansion of Landal resorts across the UK’s most beautiful locations will enable us to provide an ever-increasing choice of luxury breaks in nature for all guests to enjoy.”
