APT bolsters trade sales team with BDM hire

Koral Lipton has joined APT and Travelmarvel as the brands’ new business development manager, covering the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Glasgow-based Lipton (pictured) starts her new role on December 16 and will report into Brad Bennetts, APT and Travelmarvel’s head of sales and business development.

In her role, Lipton will be responsible for promoting the company’s river cruises, Croatian yachting programme, expedition cruises and tour products to agents.

Day-to-day she will build relationships with trade partners, identify new sales opportunities, manage third-party retail accounts, and deliver quality and engaging training for local agents, the company said.

She brings with her “a wealth of experience in supporting travel agents and key suppliers”, said APT.

Previously, Lipton was a key account manager at Gold Medal and Travel 2 for more than six years and a Travel 2 travel consultant for eight years prior to that.

Bennetts said: “Lipton joins a fantastic new team, at an exciting time of growth for our brands, and her appointment reflects the investment that our business is making to ensure the continued sales success of our valued agent partners.

“With new ships on the Mekong and expansions into new destinations planned for 2023, Koral will have lots of exciting product developments to talk to the industry about, and we can’t wait for her to get started.”

Colin Currie, head of trade partnerships at Gold Medal, said: “Koral has been an amazing member of the team and someone with whom I’ve enjoyed working closely.

“She’s a great example of how we nurture talent, having worked her way up from the call centre to becoming a valued member of our trade partnership manager team six years ago.

“I wish her all the best on her move and look forward to enhancing our relationship with APT even further with her.”
