Barrhead Travel president Jacqueline Dobson has been promoted to an executive leadership role at parent company Internova Travel Group, meaning she will oversee four US businesses in addition to the Scotland-based agency.
Dobson has been named president of Internova’s leisure division, which incorporates the Barrhead Travel Group as well as US-based brands Andrew Harper, Cruise Specialists, CruCon Cruise Outlet and Travel Leaders Vacation Center.
She will report directly to Internova chief executive J.D. O’Hara, but will continue to be Barrhead president based in Glasgow.

Dobson said: “I feel very privileged to be taking on a newly expanded role with Internova Travel Group and I’m looking forward to working with some iconic US leisure businesses.
“Like the other organisations within the group, Barrhead Travel has an incredibly distinctive brand and culture – that will certainly not change and we’ll continue to work towards our ambition of growing our retail network and investing in our people.
“Having the opportunity to step up and lead other business units will no doubt create new opportunities and synergy as we look to position the division as the global leader in leisure travel expertise.”
O’Hara said: “Jacqueline’s visionary leadership has propelled Barrhead Travel to new levels of success, all while fostering an incredible workplace culture.
“In her newly expanded role with Internova, I have full confidence that Jacqueline will continue to steer us towards even greater accomplishments, inspiring excellence every step of the way.”
Dobson began her career in travel as a trainee over 30 years ago, the last 20 of which have been with Barrhead Travel.
She also serves as president of the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association and sits on the board of directors of the Scottish Chamber of Commerce.
