Jetset has held an event to celebrate women in the industry as it marks 18 years of its ‘Jets’ booking system.
The trade-only operator hosted 35 female agents at a special spa event at Champneys Forest Mere in Surrey on March 8, International Women’s Day.
The agents, including homeworkers and high street retailers from a range of independents and multiples, enjoyed breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea along with a spa treatment and use of the facilities, including a swimming pool, jacuzzis and steam rooms.
It is the second year running the operator has held a spa day for the trade. This year’s event hosted double the number of agents and was sponsored by Experience Kissimmee, Air Canada and Flexible Autos.
Jetset sales executive Chloe Smyth said: “As a trade-only operator we are very proud of all the women in the industry, and the men, and grateful for all their support.
“We are also celebrating another milestone on the back of our 55th anniversary year last year as it is 18 years since our ‘Jets’ system was developed.”
In December last year the company completed the most significant overhaul of the system since it was launched in 2006.
Agents can book flight-only, packages, villas and accommodation-only through the bespoke booking system. Currently 82% of Jetset’s product is booked through Jets, which started with one developer 18 years ago and now has five and is regularly updated and improved.
The latest development, Enhance the Experience, was launched on Valentine’s Day. It helps agents to sell flights, not just by the cabin but by individual fare types and brands, identifying features of each seat type in economy and premium for example.
The operator is planning more agent events this year to further celebrate its Jets system, including a golf day and as part of its sponsorship of the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards on July 11, 2024.
