Landal GreenParks will almost double the number of parks it has in the UK in 2022.
The expansion follows the sale of the business by Hoseasons parent Awaze in June to Dutch holiday parks group Roompot.
The holiday parks business currently has ten UK holiday parks. Under the plans announced for next year a further nine will be added.
The expansion will mean the park operator has locations across the north of England, south Wales, Devon, Cornwall, south west Scotland and Lincolnshire, with all parks bookable by travel agents through Hoseasons.
The move aims to build on strong demand for staycations this year in the UK as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The new sites will benefit from multimillion pound investment and improvements, according to the company.
Seven of the nine new parks are the result of a partnership deal with site owners Bristol-based Luxury Lodge Estates. The park locations are: Whitbarrow, Cumbria; Dylan Coastal Retreat, south Wales; Burn Coastal Retreat, Devon; Clowance, south Cornwall; Brunston, Scotland; Slaley Hall Lodges, Northumberland; Belton Woods Lodges, Lincolnshire. Landal will take over the entire parks, with lodges bookable from January 2022.
The other two parks, Landal North Lakes, Cumbria, and Landal Barnsoul, south west Scotland, will be bookable from December for stays in 2022.
The parks will include “next-generation, design-led” lodges with a focus on “high quality and innovative accommodation”, according to UK managing director Paul Hardingham.
He said: “After an incredibly strong summer and autumn for the UK business we were looking at very ambitious growth plans into 2022, and these deals will mean we have 19 sites around the UK, which is the fasted growing part of the Landal GreenParks European portfolio.
“We believe the lodge market is going from strength-to-strength and we are seeing this borne out through bookings for this year, with October half-term up 20% year on year and forward bookings for 2022 up 30%.”
Luxury Lodge Estates said the deal fitted with its plans to expand its rental offering.
Managing director Ross Grieve said: “We are delighted with the new partnership and see Landal GreenParks as being a brand which will help us bring transformation to the UK holiday lodge market. We look forward to supporting each other in our exciting plans for growth in the coming years.”
Landal’s current ten locations are within the Peak District, Kielder Water & Forest Park, the Cornish coastline and Scottish countryside.
