Virgin Voyages poised to make Barcelona debut

Virgin Voyages second ship Valiant Lady is set to arrive in Barcelona on Saturday for the start of its first summer season in the Mediterranean.

Three itineraries of seven nights duration are being offered with discounts of up to 40% and $400 in on board spend for travel in the next 120 days if booked before May 16.

The adults-only line has claimed a 174% uplift in UK bookings, without detailed numbers.

Destinations such as Ajaccio, Marseille, Cannes, Olbia and Ibiza will be served from Barcelona with cruise-only prices starting at €1,114 per person.

Virgin Voyages chief executive Tom McAlpin  said: “We are so excited to finally bring our beautiful Valiant Lady to Barcelona and begin her European tour.

“With her sister ship Scarlet Lady sailing the gorgeous Caribbean seas, the stunning Mediterranean was the dream destination for our next home.

“From Palma de Mallorca, to Cagliari or Toulon, we’re thrilled to be able to offer sailors [passengers] the Virgin access to some of Europe’s most stunning destinations.”
