Clia announces Cruise Week dates and activities

Cruise trade body Clia has announced this year’s Cruise Week will take place from September 16-25.

The annual event will see trade-friendly cruise initiatives and updates for agents to help them capitalise on marketing activity from the association.

The week will have a ‘Get Onboard’ theme, urging agents to take part – and showcasing to holidaymakers the many reasons people choose to take a cruise holiday.

Targeted trade activity includes marketing and social media promotions, using the hashtags #CliaCruiseWeek and #LoveCruise.

Clia will share sales tips for agents from cruise line executives and there will be several Cruise Week webinars.

Exclusive cruise line deals and incentives for the trade will be published in the membership area of the Clia website.

The website will have a special Cruise Week page, showing agents how to capitalise on the week and offering assets to download.

Agents are being encouraged to use social media, marketing, their own events and PR to help boost the messages shared during Cruise Week.

Andy Harmer, Clia managing director for UK & Ireland, said: “We’re very excited this year’s Cruise Week is on the horizon, and are eagerly counting down to the raft of trade initiatives we’ll be putting in place.

“We’re encouraging all agents to stay tuned via social media and our other communications platforms.

“There is so much positivity and enthusiasm in the industry, and Cruise Week is timed perfectly to help generate even more customer interest, engagement and enquiries.”
