Tui has joined other travel companies in issuing a travel reassurance message ahead of this month’s half-term holidays.
The company’s UK & Ireland managing director Neil Swanson provided the update as the trade sought to calm consumer concerns over reports that thousands of flights worldwide have been cancelled due to jet fuel shortages.
He said: "We know some customers may be feeling a little uneasy after recent headlines, and we want to reassure anyone travelling over May half term that they can look forward to their holiday with confidence with Tui.
“We have good visibility on fuel supplies and are operating our holiday programme as planned, with no flights being cancelled due to fuel shortages.
"Our careful planning across fuel, flying and hotel capacity means we’re able to continue offering great value and stable prices – with no fuel surcharges added by Tui.
“The price customers see is the price they pay, and all Tui package holidays are Abta and Atol protected, giving peace of mind from booking right through to returning home."
His intervention came after the government, Abta and easyJet all released statements to provide context in a collective bid to allay consumer fears over the impact of the Middle East conflict on flights.
