Walking holiday specialist Inntravel has achieved B Corp status, recognising its sustainability policies and social performance.
The Hotelplan brand said its score of 91.7 was “a strong score, particularly for a tour operator”.
It also noted that the certification is recognition of Inntravel’s “long-standing commitment to authentic and responsible tourism”.
For 40 years, Inntravel has offered self-guided walking and cycling holidays, with trips “that embrace a slow, immersive and responsible ethos”.
To keep its certification, Inntravel must recertify every three years and achieve sufficient scores across five key areas of business activity: governance, workers, environment, community and customers.
Emma Gray, Inntravel managing director, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Inntravel is now B Corp Certified. Inntravel was founded over 40 years ago on principles that align so closely to the B Corp community and environment goals – our type of travel is about visiting other people’s places and experiencing their way of life – and to do so with care and responsibility.
“And since our inception, we have built our business in all areas with one simple intention – to do the right thing.
“Our B Corp certification acknowledges what we are already doing, but also helps us identify areas where we can do more and provides a framework for us to build on from here. We’re so excited to join the B Corp community and play an even bigger role in ensuring travel really is a force for good.”
