Mediterranean hotel brand Wavemaker Hospitality has expanded its trade team in the UK with the recruitment of two agents from Tui.
The group’s UK-based team now numbers five, with Chris Curlett and Jade Spurrell joining as business development executives.
In his role with Tui, Curlett was nominated for Travel Advisor of the Year, achieved Regional Top 10 Best Seller recognition for 2025, and was named Top Seller for the Trafford Centre in 2026. He has also taken part in educational trips with Atlantica Hotels, part of the Wavemaker portfolio.
Spurrell has extensive experience in customer service and retail sales roles within the travel industry and, most recently, as a homeworking retail advisor at Tui.
The appointments reflect the company’s “continued investment in building strong relationships with travel partners across the market”.
The expanded team will focus on supporting trade partners in the UK and driving awareness of Wavemaker Hospitality’s growing portfolio, which encompasses five brands and more than 40 properties across Greece and Cyprus.
The collection includes a “growing” luxury portfolio, including Mare Resorts, Amoh Rhodes and the launch of Aphi Resorts in 2027.
Curlett and Spurrell will work alongside Wavemaker’s “established” UK trade team of sales and promotions director Carl Harris, sales and promotions manager Damian Parkes and sales, marketing and promotions executive Amie Reece.
The expansion forms part of the brand’s strategy to “deepen engagement with the travel trade and support the continued growth of its portfolio”.
