Wizz Air has acquired slots at Luton airport from Tui Airways to add six new routes.
The budget carrier’s network is being expanded for next summer with the addition of flights to Yerevan in Armenia, Alicante, Lyon, Corfu, Faro and Turin.
The new routes are scheduled to start on June 12 and 13, bringing the Wiizz Air network from Luton up to 66 destinations.
An additional Airbus A321neo will be deployed at Luton, bringing the total number of aircraft based at the airport up to 15.
The airline will run five flights a week to Alicante and four to Faro.
Corfu becomes the carrier’s fifth Greek island destination, joining the previously announced Chania, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.
Services to Lyon and Turin will operate year-round, offering more flexibility beyond the winter ski season, according to the carrier.
The Armenian capital of Yerevan has previously not been served direct from Luton.
One-way fares start at £13.99 to Lyon, rising to £45.99 to Corfu.
Wizz Air UK managing director Yvonne Moynihan said: “This announcement underlines our continued commitment to London Luton airport and the wider UK market.
