A newly-formed climate department has been created by Intrepid Travel the company doubles down on an enhanced environmental action plan.
Dr Susanne Etti has been promoted to lead the unit as general manager, climate.
She will drive the adventure operator’s accelerated decarbonisation roadmap and oversee the allocation of a new £1 million Climate Impact Fund, supporting practical, immediate emissions reductions across the business and its supplier network.
This follows Intrepid’s recent decision to close its carbon offset scheme in favour of direct decarbonisation investment, alongside a lifecycle-based carbon intensity reduction target.
Intrepid is recruiting a decarbonisation manager to support the delivery of carbon reductions across the business and its supplier network.
Alongside the new climate department, Sara King will move to the newly renamed role of general manager, impact, overseeing environmental and social initiatives, as well as its B Corp certification.
Rochelle Turner will move from her current B Corp impact manager role to take on the newly created position of head of impact, EMEA.
Elaine Learmonth has joined from Flight Centre UK, where she was product and supplier leader, in the newly-created position of head of regional experiences.
