C&M Travel Recruitment has reported a 49% rise in the number of new travel job vacancies, with September’s total reaching the highest level in seven months, as well as monthly increases in candidate numbers and job placements.
The company said September’s figures marked only the second time this year that all three metrics had risen in the same month.
Barbara Kolosinska, co-owner and managing director of C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “In particular, the 49% monthly jump in new travel job vacancies is extremely welcome.
“This big increase means there are a wealth of fantastic new opportunities currently available and we are already seeing this result in an increase in new jobseekers searching for roles in the travel industry in October.”
While September’s travel vacancies figure was the best since February, the total was down by 23% compared with September last year.
There was a 2% monthly rise in the number of candidates seeking new travel jobs last month, though the figure dipped by 13% compared with September last year.
The number of people being placed in new travel jobs rose by 4% between August and September, but the total fell by 14% compared with September 2024.
Kolosinska said: “After the summer holiday distractions of July and August, September traditionally marks the start of a busier period for travel recruitment – and that’s exactly what we’ve seen this year.
“Vacancies, candidates and placements have all risen, which is a great indication that we are heading in the right direction for the rest of 2025.”
