The achievements of long-serving Hays Travel colleagues have been celebrated at an annual dinner in Durham.
Dame Irene Hays, owner and chair of the agency, welcomed 19 invitees to Ramside Hall on Wednesday (February 18) for the dinner and the annual Long Service Awards.
These were colleagues from the north who have amassed 10 or 20 years’ service with Hays Travel, either in a retail branch or at the Sunderland head office.
Dame Irene said: “The Long Service Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate loyalty, which is one of the five Hays Travel ‘Smile’ values.
“Over the last 46 years, our people have been key to our success and those colleagues who attended on Wednesday evening have played an integral part in making the business what it is today.
“I congratulate everyone who is celebrating a service milestone this year. Their hard work is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.”
Jonathon Woodall-Johnston, chief operating officer of Hays Travel, added: “We had a memorable evening at Ramside Hall recognising the contribution of some of our longest-serving people and celebrating their success.
“They are a credit to the Hays Travel family and are great role models for our younger colleagues. Not only that, but their careers highlight the advancement opportunities available across the group.”

Among the colleagues celebrating 20 years’ service on Wednesday was Clare Fishwick, regional sales manager for Tyne and Wear.
Mel Hart, her divisional sales manager, said: “Clare joined Hays Travel 20 years ago to run our Hartlepool branch and at her first managers’ meeting I could tell immediately that she was determined to succeed – which, of course, she did.
“Clare is highly regarded by everyone in her successful North division team who describe her as driven, motivational, passionate, committed, authentic, supportive, determined, and so much more.
“I feel lucky to work alongside her every day and think that everyone needs a Clare in their life!”
A second event celebrating long-serving colleagues based in the south will follow later this month at Careys Manor in the New Forest.
