Travel agent Tim Harden has been presented with £1,000 after winning Zest Car Rental’s competition at the Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards earlier this year.
The competition, which invited attendees to enter from their tables at the event at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, attracted 420 entries in total, with five runners-up each winning £100.
The main prize of £1,000 was won by Harden, director of Harden Holidays, based in Dartford, after his name was picked out of the hat at random.
He said: “The Globe Awards is always a great night and coming away with the top prize was the icing on the cake. A big thanks to Zest!”
Zest managing director Rory Sexton said the response to the competition was higher than expected.
He said: "Seeing the incredible response to our prize draw has been fantastic, and we’re already exploring ways to make it even bigger and better next year.
"It’s a real privilege to support the Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards - an event that truly celebrates and recognises the very best companies shaping the travel industry."
The UK based car hire broker, founded in 2000, is hoping to increase its trade business.
It has worked with travel agents for 10 years and has a commercial deal in place with Protected Trust Services. It is now in the process of setting up further agreements with all the major consortia and agency groups.
