MSC Cruises has planned "one of its largest upgrades" for MSC Poesia ahead of its inaugural Alaska season next year.
The renovation will see MSC’s luxury all-inclusive offering, MSC Yacht Club, added to the ship, along with 63 new suites across five categories.
To make way for the larger suites and new venues, the total number of cabins will fall from 1,275 to 1,229.
In addition to the suites, there will be new private venues for suite guests only, such as a sundeck with a grill and bar, an MSC Yacht Club Restaurant and a Top Sail Lounge.
During the refurbishment, the line will also introduce two speciality restaurants, Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, as well as the All-Star Sports Bar.
Other areas of the ship, including the MSC Aurea Spa and the MSC Gym Powered by Technogym, will be revamped.
MSC Cruises vice-president of international sales Antonio Paradiso called this “fantastic news” for UK and Irish passengers.
Paradiso said: “MSC Poesia, already a favourite thanks to her Southampton sailings this winter, will now feature an upgraded MSC Yacht Club.
“Guests can enjoy this exclusive experience while discovering incredible new destinations, from Alaska to the Panama Canal.”
He added: “For our travel agent partners, the MSC Yacht Club delivers even greater earning potential with its exceptional value, new suite categories including Family, Grand and Royal Suites, and the opportunity to attract both loyal and first-time guests.
“The addition of venues such as a reimagined Kaito Sushi Bar and the new Butcher’s Cut further enhances the onboard experience, while giving agents additional opportunities to boost earnings through prepaid dining packages."
