A husband-and-wife team who began their travel careers in June have won back their franchise fee by landing a £298,791 private jet booking to the Caribbean.
Not Just Travel consultants Lindsey and Karl, aged 45 and 50, currently work as store managers in Lincolnshire, and launched their travel business four months ago.
The booking means their £14,995 franchise fee will be fully refunded, a bonus on top of the commission they will receive for the booking.
The bumper sale was made for high-net-worth clients who were already customers of their travel business, and the pair worked on the luxury trip while on holiday themselves.
Lindsey said: “I was away in South Africa when the enquiry came in and spent a lot of my own holiday working on it.
“ITC were a brilliant supplier to work with to make it happen.
“There were times I wondered if it would fall through due to challenges such as limited first-class seat availability, but I suggested a private jet and ITC made it happen.”
The single booking also made Lindsey and Karl the fastest couple to achieve the company’s Money Back Challenge.
Their journey with Not Just Travel started almost four years ago, when they first attended a Discovery event roadshow and met co-founder Steve Witt to learn about the business.
After also speaking with co-founder Paul Harrison, they came close to joining but put their plans on hold in order to travel the world.
They said they chose Not Just Travel’s recruitment arm, The Travel Franchise, for its training and support, plus its Money Back Challenge which promises to refund Elite franchisees their franchise fee if they reach a set amount of commission in their first year.
Lindsey said the Money Back Challenge had been their main goal but added: “Balancing full-time jobs with running a travel consultancy is a real challenge.
“Now, with this one booking alone, we’ve done it.”
They say the refund will be reinvested back into their bigger plan: to take the leap into travel full-time next year.
“We’re realising quickly that if we had more time, what could we achieve with this business?” said Lindsey.
She said their business development manager Catherine Haynes has been “incredible” and hailed the wider support team for their quick responses.
Witt commented: “This immense booking is a testament to the exceptional relationships our consultants build with their clients and the trust high-net-worth travellers place in their expertise.
“What makes this particularly impressive is that Lindsey and Karl only launched in June, yet have already established themselves as a trusted authority delivering outstanding service.
“Our multi-award-winning support and training empower our agents to provide the personalised attention premium clients demand, regardless of booking value.”
“Lindsey and Karl have demonstrated that with the right support, dedication and expertise, part-time entrepreneurs can deliver the same exceptional service and secure the same calibre of bookings as full-time consultants, all while building a sustainable business around their existing commitments.”
Harrison added: “More than 98% of people who join us have never worked in travel before. This is evidence that you don’t need the experience, as we have the help, support, training and platform to show that anything and everything is possible.”
