Titan Travel has teamed with Virgin Atlantic to offer agents the chance to win a “tuk’ing fantastic” trip to India.
The “Tuk Into India” incentive was unveiled at the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) conference in Wales.
Shane Lewis-Riley, Titan Travel trade distribution director, joined Nicki Goldsmith, global agency sales director at Virgin Atlantic, to announce the campaign, which will run until November.
He told Travel Weekly that the airline and operator will promote the incentive by taking a tuk tuk – a motorised rickshaw – on a UK tour for agents to get to know the Titan and Virgin Atlantic teams better.
Goldsmith said: “We are really excited about it. It has been no secret that we want to start working closer with the touring sector, so it’s a really good partnership to work with Titan and go out onto the road to push the fact that we’ve got three gateways in India.”
The 10 winners will experience a tailored version of Titan’s Golden Triangle tour, which is a strong seller for the trade, as well as the Virgin Atlantic flight.
“Getting there is as important as the destination, and that is why, at Titan, we have been leaning into our partnership with Virgin Atlantic,” said Lewis-Riley.
“We pick our customers up from home with our nationwide chauffeur service, so what better way...if they’ve upgraded, they can get straight into the Upper Class wing with Virgin Atlantic?
“We thought, how do we give our agents the opportunity to experience that? So we will pick them up from home and whisk them through the Upper Class wing at Heathrow.”
Taking place next spring, the tour will be “fine-tuned” to tailor it for the agents and also include tuk tuk races.
“It is a great opportunity, because we’ve just doubled the size of our trade team in Titan and we’ve invested a lot in this space,” he added.
Goldsmith added: “From a Virgin Atlantic perspective, it doesn’t matter what cabin you’re travelling in with us, it’s always a great experience.
“Our crew are absolutely fantastic. You cannot beat the warmth of the Virgin Atlantic cabin crew on board.
“We are really looking forward to this collaboration with Titan and really being able to showcase that [Upper Class wing].
“It is not just about the end destination, it’s about the journey and how you get there, and I think we are perfect partners.”
Two places on the trip were given away during the trade fair at the Atas conference and others will be given away in a prize draw.
To enter, agents need to book a Titan holiday that includes flights with Virgin Atlantic or its partner Delta Air Lines.
Lewis-Riley first spoke to the trade in his new role at Titan during the 2024 Atas conference in Leeds, promising to “shake things up”.
“A big part of shaking things up is getting us to a place that I think we needed to be in order for Titan Travel to reclaim its crown,” he said.
“That’s the mission that I set out; I made the objective for us to be the most trusted touring partner, and working with trusted partners like Virgin Atlantic helps to elevate that.
“We have doubled our team and we have invested significantly in our trade call centre, with a conversion rate now that is double of what it was a year ago.
“The answer call rate is now under 90 seconds – so some really significant improvements.
“People have told me that they can feel the difference happening, and they can see the improvements – they can see the enhancements in the Titan products and our people.”
