Tui is raising capacity to Florida this summer with an extra flight from Manchester Airport.
The additional frequency means that Tui Airways will run three flights a week to Melbourne Orlando International Airport from May 22 to meet growing customer demand from the northwest hub.
The increase is part of the operator’s wider Orlando Melbourne programme, which includes a total of eight weekly departures from UK airports including Gatwick, Newcastle, Glasgow and Belfast.
Tui Airways is the only UK carrier operating direct to the Florida east coast airport south of Orlando and will operate a total of 239 flights across the year.
Melbourne Orlando International Airport provides access to key Florida destinations such as Cape Canaveral, the Kennedy Space Center and Orlando theme parks all under an hour’s drive away.
Tui UK & Ireland commercial director Chris Logan said: "Florida remains a firm favourite with our customers, with tens of thousands flying direct from Manchester last summer.
“From 22 May, we’re adding an extra Manchester to Melbourne flight, complementing our wider UK programme to Florida from London Gatwick, Newcastle, Glasgow and Belfast, giving even more of our customers the chance to enjoy Florida’s world-class parks, beaches and attractions."
Manchester Airport chief commercial officer Stephen Turner added: “We’re proud to connect the people of the north to the world by offering more flights to the destinations they want to fly to than any other airport in the region.
“A key part of this is offering greater flexibility and choice so Tui adding extra flights to Orlando is great news.”
“There’s always a special buzz around any flight to Orlando so I’m looking forward to seeing even more excited faces in the departure lounge when these flights launch.”
