Emirates names new UK boss

Jabr Al-Azeeby has been named by Emirates as new UK divisional vice president.

He succeeds Richard Jewsbury, who first joined Emirates in 2005 and has served in multiple roles across the business, including six years overseeing the airline’s commercial, customer and cargo operations across the UK.

Jewsbury moved in March to take up the Dubai-based role of executive vie president corporate and customer experience planning.

Al-Azeeby joins Emirates UK as the airline gears up to resume daily operations to Edinburgh starting from November 4 – its eighth destination in the UK. The airline currently serves the UK with 133 weekly flights with a mix of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s.

He has worked at Emirates for more than 15 years and has previously served as vice president for India, Pakistan, and more recently, vie president of commercial operations in Saudi Arabia. He reports to Thierry Aucoc, senior vice president commercial operations Europe.

Al-Azeeby said: “The United Kingdom is one of Emirates’ most important operations and I’m looking forward to working closely with the team locally to continue the momentum of the past few years, as well as bringing my experience of the Middle East market to the region.

“The move to London is very exciting and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to immerse myself in the opportunities as well as any challenges that arise.”
