Gibraltar to drop PLF and test rules on March 18

Gibraltar will drop the need for travellers landing at Gibraltar airport to submit a Passenger Locator Form from March 18.

That is the same day that Covid testing will no longer be required for those entering the territory via the airport or Gibraltar Port.

Last week (March 4), the territory dropped its general requirements to wear masks and face coverings are only needed settings such as medical and health service buildings.

Furthermore, according to the Visit Gibraltar website, unvaccinated close contacts of Covid-19 positive cases will no longer be required to self-isolate from March 25.

However, Covid-19 positive cases will have to continue to have to self-isolate in line with the established day 6 and day 7 testing regime.

• Elsewhere, the South Korean government has announced that it will be reopening the country’s borders and allowing quarantine-free entry to fully vaccinated travellers from April 1.

James Mundy, Inside Travel Group’s PR and partnerships manager, welcomed the announcement saying: “South Korea is one of InsideAsia’s key destinations and we cannot wait to begin helping our trade partners and their customers to discover this incredible culture and country soon.

“This is a big moment for InsideAsia and even bigger for South Korea.”

Full details about requirements pre-arrival and on arrival are likely to be announced next week.
