Jet2 puts 16m seats on sale for summer 2025

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have confirmed a capacity hike of almost 4% with more than 16 million seats going on sale for summer 2025 over next year.

Six new routes have been added to give a total of 46 destinations across 350 routes from 11 UK airports with more than 1,600 flights a week at peak times.

The flying programme to Bulgaria and Malta has been expanded “significantly” for summer 2025.

New routes on sale from today (Thursday) as part of the expanded programme are Kalamata from Bristol; Catania and Bourgas in Bulgaria from Edinburgh; and Malaga, Malta and Reus from Liverpool.

Additional aircraft will be deployed at at Birmingham, Liverpool, Stansted and Manchester airports. 

Three new Airbus A321neos will be based at Edinburgh airport for summer 2025 in addition to Birmingham and Manchester airports.

The overall programme covers the Canary Islands, Balearics, mainland Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Cyprus, Croatia, Montenegro, Malta, Bulgaria, France, Austria, and Portugal.

Further developments are also due to be announced, according to chief executive Steve Heapy.

He said: “We are seeing strong demand from customers and independent travel agents wanting to book their summer sun early and get the best availability and choice. 

“As the UK’s largest tour operator, we have listened to what our customers are telling us and reacted by putting our summer ’25 sun programme on sale nice and early.

“By going on sale today, we are giving customers the chance to lock in the price of their holiday now, have their pick of the best choice of destinations, hotels, rooms and flights and spread the cost.

“Our summer ’25 sun programme represents our largest programme to date, and the scale and size of this means customers and independent travel agents have lots of choice and flexibility when it comes to getting away.

“In addition to expanding our flying programme, we are also investing in our operations at Birmingham, Liverpool John Lennon, London Stansted and Manchester by adding in additional aircraft at these airports.

“We will also be introducing three new Airbus A321neo aircraft at Edinburgh airport. This means we will have our new aircraft based at Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester airports for summer ’25, enabling us to grow more sustainably in line with demand for our award-winning flights and holidays. 

“On top of today’s announcement, we will be revealing more good news about our exciting summer ’25 operations soon.”
