Wizz Air will resume operations to and from Tel Aviv in Israel, from next Thursday (May 28), including flights from Luton and Gatwick.
The budget carrier will be offering 22 routes from 10 countries in Europe, including Budapest, Larnaca, Milan, Rome, Venice, Bucharest, and Rome.
The airline said the decision follows an update from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and reflects Wizz Air’s ongoing “coordination with international and local authorities, including aviation and security bodies, alongside its overriding commitment to ensuring safe operations”.
The airline said it will continue to monitor developments closely and remains in regular contact with aviation safety agencies, security authorities and governmental bodies. Operations will be continuously reviewed, and schedules may be adjusted in line with official industry guidance.
The UK Foreign Office currently advises against all travel to Israel.
Ian Malin, chief commercial officer at Wizz Air, said: “As Europe’s reliable airline and Israel’s number one low-cost airline, we are thrilled to confirm our return to Tel Aviv.
“The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our top priority, and we have taken a cautious and measured approach to this decision.
“We look forward to reconnecting with our Israeli passengers and allowing our millions of customers across Europe to experience the amazing culture Israel has to offer.”
