Icelandic start-up budget carrier Play has confirmed plans to start transatlantic flights next year.
The airline has applied for permission from the US Department of Transportation.
The application comes two months after the start of service between Reykjavik and Stansted with one-way fares starting at £30.
A third aircraft joined the fleet in July, with plans to double the fleet size by 2022 to open up travel to the US via Iceland from the UK.
Play is flying 192-seat all-economy Airbus A321neo aircraft.
