Tunisia relaxes entry rules for unvaccinated UK travellers

Tunisia has removed the need for for unvaccinated travellers to self-isolate on arrival in the country.

Proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before arrival or a lateral flow test taken 24 hours before will now be required.

Children aged 17 and under do not need to take a test for Covid-19 and fully jabbed UK travellers can enter Tunisia without having to test or quarantine.

All travellers might be subject to random testing on arrival and asked to share contact details and travel information with authorities.

A new requirement for hotel bookings is also highlighted in revised Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office travel advice.

“Officially, evidence of a hotel reservation is required to enter the country, however this policy is not applied uniformly,” the FCDO said.

“In the majority of cases, if asked, an explanation of alternative accommodation arrangements will be accepted.

“A small number of visitors have been refused entry to Tunisia, or delayed, for not being able to provide sufficient evidence of a hotel reservation.”

Anyone in this situation should call the UK consular team on +216 71 108 700, the FCDO added.
