Ambassador Cruise Line is marking National Grandparents’ Day on October 5 with an agent incentive.
The line will bring back its nationwide search for the ’Great British Grandparent’ for a third year and, for the first time, is linking it to the trade by offering agents the chance to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher by nominating a grandparent on the campaign page.
Entries open on October 5 and close on November 16 and will be judged by a panel, with the winner announced on February 14.
In recognition of their contribution, the winning grandparent will enjoy a week-long, full-board Ambassador cruise for two to enjoy at a time of their choosing.
To enter the voucher draw, agents should email their name, agency name, Abta number and proof of nomination to competitions@ambassadorcruiseline.com by November 16.
In 2023, Raymond Pearson, a grandfather of five from Essex was voted Ambassador’s first Grandparent of the Year, and in 2024, Jeanette Townsend, grandmother to eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren from West Sussex, was crowned winner.
Ambassador Cruise Line interim head of trade Karen Cameron said: “Our valued trade partners are key to our success and we are dedicated to supporting them in the best way we can while showing our appreciation for all that they do for us.
"But today we are asking them to support us in our annual search for the Great British Grandparent."
She added: “Grandparents are the anchors of family units, workplaces and communities across the country, offering those around them emotional support, life advice and always putting others first.
"As we embark on our third campaign to find Ambassador’s Grandparent of the Year, we would encourage agents across the country to nominate someone they know that really makes a difference, whether that be at work or at home, for this prestigious title."
