Italian cruise line Costa Cruises’ new flagship Costa Toscana (pictured) will make its debut in the Mediterranean in May 2022.
The one-week cruises to Italy, France and Spain are part of the range of sailings from April 2022 to April 2023 which are now available for booking.
Sister ships Costa Smeralda and Costa Pacifica will also offer week-long cruises in the western Mediterranean.
Three other ships will operate one-week itineraries in the eastern Mediterranean: Costa Deliziosa will sail to the Greek islands; Costa Luminosa will visit Greek islands and Croatia; and Costa Magica will visit Greece and Malta.
Four ships will be cruising in northern Europe: Costa Fortuna, Costa Favolosa, Costa Diadema and Costa Fascinosa.
The 2022-23 winter season will include the return of Grand Cruises onboard Costa Luminosa, with two 50-day holidays, from Genoa to Buenos Aires and from Buenos Aires to Genoa.
The Costa Deliziosa World Tour departs on 11 January, 2023, and will visit Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
Currently, Costa Cruises is working on the restart of its sailings from May 1, 2021.
Meanwhile, sister Carnival brand Aida Cruises has cancelled the departures planned for May with Aidaperla in the Mediterranean.
Instead, the German cruise line is extending Aidaperla’s Canary Islands season into June.
The newly announced voyages depart from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, on May 15, 22 and 29, 2021.
Currently, Aidaperla is sailing on seven-day voyages around the Canary Islands – described by Aida Cruises as “one of the few destinations in Europe with consistently low incidence levels” of Covid-19.
“Thanks to the Spanish government’s regulations for safe travel, which coincide with Aida’s enhanced health and safety protocols, many Aida guests have been able to enjoy relaxing holidays in the Canary Islands,” said the Carnival-owned cruise line.
Last month, the cruise line cancelled Mediterranean cruises on Aidablu, Aidaprima and Aidamira with departure dates up to and including May 9.
It also cancelled departures from Hamburg to northern Europe or Norway with Aidadiva, Aidasol and Aidaluna up to and including April 28.
