G Adventures’ EMEA marketing director, Ant Stone, has paid tribute to his colleagues as he has revealed his departure from the escorted tour operator.
He announced on LinkedIn that he is to leave after almost nine years in the role to take time out to go travelling.
“G has been a definitive chapter in my life. Looking back, I’m blown away by the impact we’ve made together,” he said.
“We’ve balanced consistent commercial success in a highly competitive sector without ever losing our anchor in community tourism. I’m incredibly proud of the brand work, and deeply grateful to our commercial, industry, and agency partners across the UK and Europe for backing responsible tourism.”
He also gave “heartfelt thanks” to EMEA managing director Brian Young, “who backed me from day zero and pushed me from day one”.
And referring to the EMEA Summit head office in London, he added: “To the powerhouse individuals who formed my teams – past and present – who gave absolutely everything, every single day: you will always be ‘Summit Else’.
“As for me? I’m looking forward to taking some time out to do what I love: exploring Sicily, South Korea, Cornwall, and the Arctic.”
Young commented: “Ant has played an important role at G Adventures over the past nine years.
“During that time, he has been a valued leader and colleague, supporting both our direct and agent businesses across the UK and Europe.
“Alongside the wider marketing team, he delivered award-winning campaigns and always championed our responsible travel mission.
“We thank him for his contribution and wish him every success as he moves on to his next adventure.
“We are now recruiting a senior manager to join our UK marketing team, based in our Summit office in London, and look forward to sharing news of that appointment soon.”
