Heathrow said its operations at Terminal 3 has “returned to normal” after a fire alarm activation this morning (July 25) prompted some areas of the building to be evacuated as a precaution.
A spokesperson said: “There was a temporary fire alarm activation in part of Terminal 3 earlier this morning, however this has been resolved, stood down and the operation has returned to normal.”
At 2pm, the airport’s website listed average wait times for UK passport holders as 30-45 minutes, while other passport holders faced average wait times of less than 10 minutes.
Average security wait times for departures were listed as less than five minutes.
Responding to travellers on X, Heathrow confirmed the fire alarm had led to some areas of the terminal being evacuated while the fire service investigated.
It added: “We apologise for any disruption caused to your journey today.”
