Malaysia Airlines deploys additional services to and from Kuala Lumpur to repatriate travellers

Malaysia Airlines has added flights from Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle to help repatriate passengers stranded due to airspace closures over the Gulf.

The first two additional flights took off on Friday, the first to Paris Charles de Gaulle and the second returning to Kuala Lumpur Airport.

A flight to Heathrow on Saturday was scheduled to take off at 10am local time, with another service in the opposite direction from Kuala Lumpur airport due to take off at 5.40pm local time.

A further flight was due to take off from Kuala Lumpur Airport for Heathrow at 1.15am local time on Sunday, and another flight is scheduled to leave from Heathrow at 8.30pm local time.

Malaysia Airlines also confirmed the resumption normal operations to Jeddah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia from March 8, but services to Doha will remain suspended until March 13.

The airline said it is working closely with partner airlines to “facilitate onward connections” for passengers affected by disruption.
